Thousand Oaks High School Athletics: A Tradition of Excellence

Thousand Oaks High School (TOHS) has long been a beacon of athletic excellence in our community. The Lancers, as they are affectionately known, have built a legacy that resonates both on and off the field.

Historic Achievements

TOHS’s athletic prowess is evident in its storied history. The cross-country teams have clinched multiple CIF State championships, with the boys’ team securing titles in 1993 and 1994, and the girls’ team triumphing in 1993. The baseball team has also made its mark, winning CIF-SS championships in 2003 and 2021. Notably, in 2021, the team set a Ventura County record with 31 consecutive victories, ranking ninth among all-time winning streaks in California.

Recent Milestones

In 2022, the Lancer football team achieved its first 10–0 regular season in the program’s history, a testament to the dedication and hard work of the players and coaching staff. The boys’ swim team added to the school’s accolades by winning the CIF-SS Division 4 championship in 2023.

Commitment to Character

Beyond athletic achievements, TOHS emphasizes the importance of character and sportsmanship. In 2024, the school was honored with the CIF-Southern Section Champion of Character award, recognizing student-athletes who exemplify trustworthiness, responsibility, respect, fairness, caring, and citizenship. This award underscores the school’s commitment to developing well-rounded individuals who excel both in sports and in life.

Looking Ahead

As the new academic year approaches, the Lancers are gearing up for another exciting season. The community eagerly anticipates supporting our teams as they strive for excellence, uphold traditions, and create new memories that will be cherished for years to come.
